On 7 September we will begin advertising on buses in London. The advertisements, which will run for two weeks, will be on the outside of 55 of London’s iconic red double-decker buses on routes in and around Westminster and the West End in Central London.
The campaign, which will involve other promotional activity, will be focused on global population growth. The topic is very timely because the United Nations significantly increased its global population projections just a short while ago. The United Nations now estimates that global population will reach almost 10 billion by 2050 and exceed 11 billion by 2100 unless there is a much greater decrease in fertility rates than expected.
Two different slogans will appear in the advertisements: “10,000 more people every hour” and “We need to talk about population.”
Funding for the campaign was obtained through a special appeal to our members made earlier this year.
