The Bill & Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health (Gates Institute) seeks nominations and applications for the position of Institute Director.
Established in 1999, the Gates Institute’s mission is to build individual and institutional capacity in the developing world by strengthening the effectiveness of population, family planning and reproductive health policies and programs. The Institute works across the academic, public and private sectors, collaborating with reproductive health researchers and leaders of reproductive health programs to establish enduring training programs and new leaders, transfer international best practices, conduct collaborative research and translate findings into actionable programs and policies.
Depending on the selected candidate’s strengths, she/he will have an academic rank of Professor or Senior Scientist. The successful applicant will be an established leader in international population and reproductive health. She/he will have a history of academic service, and demonstrated administrative, fund raising and research skills. A strong record of publications in peer-reviewed journals is desirable. The Director will provide intellectual leadership in the promotion of population and reproductive health, represent the Institute within and outside the University and participate fully in the PFRH.
