Act for Nature rally in London

Population Matters members attended the Act for Nature rally in London, UK on 9 December and handed out leaflets promoting population concern.

The rally, which was organized by a number of environmental conservation groups, was held to urge politicians to defend existing laws that protect nature; put an end to wildlife crime; and help to promote conservation by introducing the Nature and Wellbeing Act, which would put nature at the heart of decision-making.

A key driver of pressure on nature in the United Kingdom, one of Europe’s most densely populated countries, is its fast-growing population. The same is true of many other countries throughout the world.
